250,000 Lbs of Trash Down
and plenty more to go
Our Milestone Cleanup at the Brandywine River
Last Saturday was an important day for us.
With the help of over 100 volunteers, Subaru of America, State and Union, Trail Creek Outfitters and the First State National Historical Park, we reached our quarter million pound milestone! We've been traveling across the country for 5 years, across 23 states and with the help of close to 5,000 volunteers, have cleaned over 250,000 lbs. from oceans and waterways. At the Brandywine Creek, we removed 1,940 lbs. of trash and debris from the water and surrounding land. Weird trash finds included a pile of forgotten shoes, wallet, hubcap, rollerblade, lots of underwear, wood flooring, and much, much more.
Check out photos of our cleanup below, and our album on Facebook for more.
Keep the #bluemovement strong and join us for our next cleanup!
