Delaware River at Pier 68

Date: April 19th, 2016

Location: Pier 68, Philadelphia, PA

Haul: 1,408 lbs.

We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather and a great group of volunteers to deep clean Pier 68 and the surrounding piers and waterfront of the Delaware River! Students from Philadelphia area schools, all member of the Youth Volunteer Corps of Philadelphia, and local residents and businesses helped to clean 1,408 lbs. of trash from the area in just an hour and a half! There was plenty of weird trash found, including cremated remains (yikes!), a baby chair, single Nike shoe, a dead catfish and a NY Jets fleece blanket.

For more photos from the cleanup, visit our Facebook album.

Special thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Philadelphia Water, Philadelphia Streets, the Youth Volunteer Corps of Philadelphia, and The Living Room Cafe
