Serving as the natural border between Philadelphia and Darby counties, Cobbs Creek and its surrounding green spaces and trails, serve as an outdoor recreation platform for people of all ages. On April 4th, United By Blue and 63 volunteers gathered in West Philadelphia for a cleanup of Cobbs Creek. The cloudy skies cleared, and the warm spring evening made for a beautiful and productive cleanup around the creek bank and trail. Volunteers were able to remove an impressive 6,262 lbs. of trash and recycling, and found some retro trashy treasures along the way, including an old boom box, a letter jacket and a VCR! A special thanks to all of our partners: Zipcar, Philadelphia Water Department, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, Clif Bar and Mariposa Food Co-op.
