Delaware river

Delaware river

September 21, 2016

1,987 lbs.

United By Blue teamed up with Philadelphia Water and Barefoot wine for a cleanup of the Delaware River along Pier 68 in South Philly. The Delaware is home to a large variety of fish and plant species, and has been a popular spot for fisherman and recreation. Due to its heavy use, it has collected a lot of debris and recyclables. With the help of 59 volunteers, we were able to haul 1987 lbs. of trash out of the river and from the the shoreline.

Special thanks to Barefoot Wine and The Industry for hosting a complimentary happy hour for our hardworking volunteers.
