Under sunny skies and lush tree canopies, over 40 volunteers joined United By Blue for a massive cleanup along the Patapsco River. In just three hours we collected over 1,700 lbs. of trash, including a 190 lb. rusted wire doughnut! Strange trash recovered included an eye wash station, old school computer memory roll and sparkling windshield remnants. The American Canoe Association brought a handful of Stand-up Paddleboards (SUP), kyaks and canoes, which made all the difference in hauling tires from one end of the river to another. Volunteers were treated to a delicious brick oven pizza lunch, prepared on site!
Special thanks to those who made this possible, including: Subaru of America, Inc., The Patapso Valley State Park Rangers, JZ's Brick Oven Pizza, American Canoe Association and all of our great volunteers.
