Delaware river cleanup

Newark | Delaware

June 5, 2017

121.3 lbs.

On Monday June 5th, 24 volunteers gathered at Battery Park in New Castle, DE for a cleanup of the Delaware River.  United by Blue joined forces with REI Christiana and 1-800-GOT-JUNK? for their first cleanup together. Volunteers spent two hours picking up small pieces of plastic bottles and bags along beach. With their hard work and dedicated efforts, we were able to remove 121.3 lbs. of trash and recyclables from the river.  This was the 2nd cleanup, out of 11, on the United by Blue and REI Cleanups Crew Road Trip! A special thank you to all of our partners: REI, Clif Bar, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
