A quick Q&A with our UBB Ambassadors

Maybe you’ve been looking for an excuse to take a few weeks off of work. Maybe you just need a reason to spend a weekend off the couch and off the grid. However many travel miles you’re willing to log, look no further than our UBB Ambassadors and their enviable Instagram feeds for inspiration. We asked a handful of ‘em to spill their quick getaway picks and bucket list vacations (plus, the one thing they won’t leave home without).

John Wingfield

Splits his time between Washington & Alaska, dad to a photogenic golden retriever named Millie

Go-to getaway:
The North Cascades. It's less than an hour from my home in Bellingham and one of my favorite national parks in the country.

Taken by Alex Proimos

Dream trip:
I've always wanted to visit Chile, specifically the Torre Del Paine National Park. I love the idea of experiencing seasons opposite of North America.

Currently listing to:
Alabama Shakes, Tame Impala, Frank Ocean, Ben Howard, Mac Demarco, there's too many.

Favorite Instagram follow:
Alex Strohl (@alexstrohl) has always been my biggest inspiration. His work never fails to motivate me to get out and explore.

Never goes camping without:
A lighter or some other form of ignition. I always make sure I have a way to get a fire going. We get a lot of rain in Northwest Washington, so it's important to have a way to stay warm!

Natalie Puls

Traveling photographer who captures weddings out in the wild (think: white dresses + waterfalls)

Taken By Nick Perla

Go-to getaway:
I love going to Sparks Lake. I live in Bend, Oregon, so it’s a 30 minute drive from my house and the perfect spot for canoeing, campfires and camping. There is an amazing view of the Cascade Mountains!

Dream trip:
I grew up in Azerbaijan and would love to go back one day. My trip would definitely include revisiting my childhood camp spots (a friendly Azeri family's farm), taking a dip in a mud volcano and relaxing in a Turkish bath.

Currently listing to:
I spend a lot of time in my 2005 Honda CR-V (note: no fancy bluetooth) so I have a soft spot for the radio. The song that has been stuck in my head recently is "Something Just Like This" by The Chainsmokers (feat. Coldplay).

Favorite Instagram follow:
Nicole Mason (@neekmason). I have never met her in person, but she has been such a role model for strong, independent women. I love following her work and travels and reading what she has to say about the world. She recently opened a photo studio in Portland, an example of how she follows her passions — such an inspiration!

Never goes camping without:
A friend. Everything is better when you have someone to experience it with.

Elena Revelez

Female flyfisher who most frequently casts off the Southern California Coast.

Go-to getaway:
I love going up the San Bernardino National Forest. The drive is beautiful, and the more you get lost in it, the better it gets.

Dream trip:
NEW ZEALAND! It's a fly fisherman's dream: beautiful clear streams, big trout, and wilderness for miles. How can you ask for anything better?

Currently listing to:
Tame Impala

Favorite Instagram follow:
Chris Burkard (@chrisburkard) is always my favorite!

Never goes camping without:
Silverware, or you'll be using twigs as chopsticks. Trust me, it's not as glamorous as it sounds.
