Title:  Brand Copywriter

Overview:  As a member of our brand marketing team, the United By Blue Copywriter collaborates cross-functionally to tell the UBB story. The Copywriter is tasked with defining and refining our voice and executing consistent, authentic and compelling copy writing across our marketing and editorial initiatives. Supporting our in-house creative team, you'll generate and contribute to brand content that builds awareness, engages customers, grows adoption and drives sales for our mission-driven company across all touch points, including the website, emails, social media, catalogs, blog stories and other marketing communications. This position reports into the Creative Marketing Manager.

What you’ll do:

  • Tell our brand story, while being able to convey technical and complex processes in an approachable and digestible manner
  • Create smart, fresh, attention-grabbing copy that works well in digital, print and social landscape, but balances with brand tonality
  • Create engaging content, collaborating with other members of our Marketing team. You should be comfortable writing compelling headlines, website copy, product copy, emails, digital ads, social posts, long-form editorial and informational copy and more.
  • Participate in strategic brainstorming, campaign development, and creative execution
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into easy-to-understand, concise copy
  • Demonstrate strong copy editing and proofing skills
  • Maintain a high quality standard of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Embrace daily challenges and be resourceful in solving problems
  • Stay organized and self-manage time and to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Work well with direction and feedback
  • Work independently and as part of a creative team to cultivate and continuously refine our brand voice, communications, and creative output
  • Demonstrate a passion for our brand, sustainable living, and the outdoors

Who you are:

  • 2-3 years of writing experience in a marketing or advertising setting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, English, Journalism, or Communications
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Self-motivated, organized, expressive, positive, and accountable
  • Excellent proofreading and grammar skills
  • A curious and innovative thinker
  • Adaptive to change and tight deadlines
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment: you seek efficiencies and improvements and are excellent at prioritizing
  • Diligent, detail-oriented writer with a knack for creative, compelling copy
  • Proven ability to understand complex information and translate it into concise copy
  • Skilled at merging SEO best practices with compelling, differentiated editorial topics
