A United By Blue retail sales associate is a person who both specializes in both educating the customer about the United By Blue brand and working with the customer to help them find items in store that best match his or her wants/needs.  The store associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties within the store including but not limited to sales, merchandising, customer interaction, restocking, and more.  


Customer Greeting and Brand Education

  • Greet customers and determine their wants and needs upon entering store
  • Ensuring that customers are aware of the United By Blue brand and environmental mission
  • Let customers know about any current promotions or new products they may be interested
  • Assisting with in-store events and promotions

Merchandise check out and returns

  • Learning Point of Sale system and understanding proper procedures for check-outs and returns
  • Ringing up items accurately
  • Notifying customers if any items within their purchase are Final Sale or if the bag they are purchasing is covered under our lifetime guarantee

Product Knowledge

  • Being able to quickly recite prices of products
  • Recalling 3 important facts about each item in store (providing product value)
  • Communicating special features of products to customers

Merchandising and Maintaining Store Appearance

  • Working with manager and assistant manager to maintain retail fixtures and order throughout the store
  • Refolding items displayed on tables
  • Ensuring all items in store are displayed in size order for easy purchasing
  • Helping with floor sets and product turnover when needed
  • Following daily cleaning checklists and organization procedures

Flexible Schedule

This position is part-time but will have you working non-traditional hours, including holidays and weekends. You will be able to work when you are needed, which gives you flexibility and doesn’t restrict you to a traditional schedule.


  • Past experience in retail industry or direct customer service
  • Outgoing and warm personality
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Exposure to retail merchandising/visual concepts
