Position Overview: 
The Porter position at UBB is a highly important part of the daily operations involving deep cleaning, bussing tables, systematic and efficient dishwashing, and general support of the Flagship Staff. It is front facing and involves a light amount of customer interaction which may include directions, guidance through the store, help with ordering, etc. The Porter is involved in many areas of the store, making them an impressive and pertinent part of the team!

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct reporting to the Manager and other members of the kitchen team.

  • Support the Flagship Store in quickly completing tasks

  • Consolidated, clean, safe work habits in a close-working kitchen space

  • Act as an approachable, front-facing point person for questions from both customers and staff regarding all things UBB

  • Smile and engage customers - guide them through the UBB flagship experience

  • Take direction and work with an open mind to build towards a greater brand mission

 

Job Requirements:

  • A can-do, self-starting attitude. Nothing gets by you!

  • Flexibility and willingness to go with the flow in a rapidly growing and changing company

  • Bussing dishes and wiping tables during the weekdays

  • Continually sweeping/spot mopping throughout the day with a deep clean at night

  • Efficiently cycling dishes in and out of the dishroom throughout the shift so that both customers and staff are prepared

  • Continual maintenance of bathrooms including cleaning toilets, restocking products, sweeping/mopping, and overall care

  • Support in receiving/putting away deliveries as soon as they arrive

  • Attention to customer areas such as the coffee bar, trash area, self-bussing stations

  • Setup, breakdown, and cleaning of outdoor seating areas

  • Educate and promote the mission, vision, and products of UBB

  • Standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to lift and carry weight - regularly 5 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds

  • Standing and walking - must be able to stand for shifts as well as move around the large cafe as needed

  • Cleaning equipment, restocking shelves, organizing inventory, waste management, and drink preparation areas
