How do I sign up?
Use the form at the top of this page. Pick who you are, enter your email, and type in the 6-digit code we send you. If your email is a school or military address, that’s it. If not, we’ll ask for a photo or PDF of a document that shows your status.
How long does verification take?
About a minute. School and military emails are verified as soon as you enter the code, and documents are checked in a few seconds. You only verify once a year. After that, a new code is one email away.
What will my discount code look like?
Something like HERO-7K2M9QXD. Each code is unique and works for one order. You can get one code every 24 hours, and if you come back sooner we’ll show you the same code again. Please don’t share your code. Full details and exclusions are at the bottom of this page.
What happens to my documents?
We check your document automatically and then delete it. We never keep a copy, and nobody at United By Blue looks at it. All we keep is a note that you’re verified, so you don’t have to do it again for a year. You’re welcome to cover ID numbers before you upload.
Can this be used in UBB store locations?
As of right now, our Local Heroes Program discounts are only eligible on online purchases placed on unitedbyblue.com. Thanks for understanding!
Can the code be used with other promotions or offers?
No, the code cannot be combined with other offers. Dropship brands, gift cards, and carbon offsets are excluded from discounts, unless otherwise stated. Code does not apply to shipping fees. During a sitewide sale period, your code may be disabled, but will activate once the promotional period has ended.
What documents can I use?
Anything current that shows your status. Students: a student ID, this term’s class schedule, a tuition bill or an enrollment letter. Teachers: a school staff ID, a recent pay stub or a teaching license. Military and veterans: a DD-214, a VA or Veteran ID card, a driver’s license with a Veteran mark, or a recent Leave and Earnings Statement. Medical professionals: a hospital or clinic badge, a license, or a recent pay stub. Documents from any country work. Please don’t upload a military ID card. It’s illegal to photograph one.
