It's no frills, which was a challenge to pack at first but also let me streamline what is most necessary. For those curious, it can hold a 13" MacBook. "I love the tough canvas, all the pockets and how much I can pack into this huge backpack. It’s lacking a small slip pocket that you can drop things in easily without undoing a snap or unzipping. Man I wish this bag had different zippers. The teeth are huge, they scrape my arms & hands and make opening & closing pockets more challenging. This bag with better zippers would have gotten a 5 star rating but 3 is the best I can do considering it’s a pricey bag snd I expected it to be easier to use."

Hello! Does this bag have enough space for a 16” laptop in a padded sleeve (since there is. I padded area in the bag)? I’m considering this bag for school as well as hiking, so I’m hoping I can make it work! Thanks!
Hi Melissa! A 16" laptop in a case will fit in the bag, there are no padded pockets in the Rucksack.
Hi there, I'd like to ask more info about the straps. I bought a 9L Sidekick backpack and the straps are not comfortable on me. The non-padded strap part of the Sidekick digs into my armpits when it's at a normal length (almost all the way loose) which is uncomfortable. When I tighten the strap, I feel suffocated. I live in a hot and humid climate so won't be wearing this over a sweater. What are the strap lengths for the Rucksack? Is it the same as the 9L Sidekick or is the padded part longer? The Sidekick, when heavy, doesn't sit well on me either - the top part of the bag will fall backwards (while the bottom will be against my lower back), leaving a gap between my upper back and the bag, making my shoulders very sore after wearing it for awhile. I like to have the bag sit relatively high so that the weight is supported. Would this happen on this rucksack? For your info, I'm 5'1. May I advise that the adjustment part of the strap be placed at the bottom of the bag for more comfort?
Hi YX! The Workwear Rucksack has longer straps than the 9L Sidekick. Because it's a larger bag, the straps end lower on the body, closer to the hips not the armpits.
Hello, I have more than a couple of questions. How comfortable will this bag feel for extended periods of time when packed with 12 to 18 pounds of stuff. Had a TimBuk2 Spire 2.0 for some time and that was good at distributing weight and not tiring my back and did not make wearing it uncomfortable. Can the side zipper pouches fit a wide mouth 32oz Nalgene water bottle? Is there any padding for the bottom of the rucksack? To protect any tablet or laptop that may be carried inside the bag. Aside from the elevated detail of vegetable tanned leather zipper pulls what are the other elevated details of the bag? Are they more quality and functionality elevated details or for tons of style?

This bag can hold up to 30 pounds of gear, so we feel confident that you'll be comfortable carrying 12-18 pounds, and the side zipper pockets do hold a 32 oz water bottle. Unfortunately this bag does not feature a padded laptop sleeve, so we'd recommend using discretion when carrying your laptop.
