“I order these from across the country because they are simply the best sock. I can't speak to actually hiking in them (I think they'd be a bit too warm), because I use them for lounging around the house, when I want to give my feet that extra hug they deserve after a long day. Just the right amount of plush and insulation to keep the feet warm on a cool San Francisco evening. I wear 8.5 in sneakers and the size small is just a touch too roomy - even after a wash. This is fine for lounging. Love these socks.”

More Practical than Original Buffalo Socks

"I have the United by Blue original buffalo socks, and I love them and have bought them repeatedly, but they're pretty thick and coarse to wear with most shoes. These new style merino trail socks I love! They're a little bit thicker/coarser than the new Yak socks (see related review, which you could wear with casual shoes) so these are best for hiking boots or other roomy shoes, but not as thick and course as the buffalo socks. These are much more versatile. I wore these yesterday with my hiking boots when I went out to do some heavy garden cleanup work. Very warm and comfortable socks. They have a really nice cushioned soles for hiking comfort and run true to size. They also run a little taller up the shin than many of my hiking socks, if you have high boots, these would be ideal."
